Wishing You a Crafty Valentine’s Day
February is here, which means Valentine’s Day is right around the corner!
Any holiday is a great time to do some themed art projects with your kids. Here are some can’t-miss sites with Valentine’s Day ideas.
Kathy Barbro shares fabulous art projects regularly, always with background on the artist or style that inspired the project, so you can teach some culture/art history AND have a great time! Between her Jim Dine Shiny Valentine project, Focal Point Valentine, and Recycled Paper Heart Valentine, you’ll easily find the perfect project for any 1st- through 5th-grader.
This blog is a new discovery for me, and I just love it! Valerie, “frugal mom of 2,” shares her ideas for having fun on a budget. Check out the DIY Scratch-n-Sniff Valentine Treat Bags, Paint Chip Valentines, and Easy Reverse Resist Paintings!
Another new favorite of mine, Marie’s blog is always full of good ideas and fun photos. For Valentine’s Day, she has Valentine Tic Tac Toe, Chocolate Dipped Pretzel Hearts (crafts can be edible!), Heart Shaped Paper Animals, and Cute & Crafty Love Birds.
Yet another new favorite! This one is written by Kim, a stay-at-home mother of two. Her recent Valentine’s Day projects are adorable. Learn how to make “Sweetie Sunglasses” and Laundry Lid Stamps, which could be made to be hearts or any other shape.
As always, Kaboose is a great resource for crafty projects. They have tons of Valentine’s Day crafts, as well as other winter and everyday project ideas.
Please leave a comment and share YOUR favorite resources for some Valentine’s Day fun with art!
